Australian singer- Steve Wade, currently
touring with Graham Goble Encounter “blitzed” local audiences
with his live renditions of songs from the “Nautilus” album.
His vocal ability puts him up there comfortably in the company of our modern day
rock vocalists such as Lou Gramm, Paul Rogers, Paul Carrack and Daryl Hall.
Steve would definitely be in my top five……….
-Jann Bergen ( Radio Hamburg &
Hamburg Music press)
This is a very slick, well packaged and produced ten track outing, but from someone like Steve Wade I wouldn’t expect anything less. I have nothing but respect for the beauty of this mans voice, how he approaches a vocal and the high quality compositions. The production is equally lush, provided by Wade & Anthony tosti-Guerra.
Wade is a former front man for Little River Band (post John Farnham) but is an internationally known and respected composer and session musician. Although this CD was made in 2001, it hasn’t really dated and if soft rock/easy listening is your thing, don’t go past this album.
Standouts for me were opener “Nowhere
fast”, the poignant “Some People Never learn”, the oh-so- beautifully
crafted and cute, “Sweet Little Thing” and the laid back gospel style of
“Shine a Light”- a perfect closing track….
